Sarabeth (Sara) Felushko

At age 7, I experienced the devastating death of my mother. I became interested in finding ways to live a full life after traumatic events and losses. These include death, divorce, loss of job, loss of health and even loss of trust experiences. “Everyone Matters, Everyone Counts” became my driving motivation.

After graduating from Harding University in the USA with a B.A., Special Education (Developmental Disabilities), I completed courses in pastoral counselling and went on to work as a Women and Children’s Ministry Coordinator for 26 years. I have been a Registered Professional Counsellor for the last 10 years and in Nov 2016 earned the designation Master Practitioner in Clinical Counselling (MPCC). In 2016 I also transitioned into full time teaching, training and counselling.

Over the last 10 years I have trained extensively in Compassionate Communication (Non-violent Communication). Fuelled by a desire to put effective emotional storm-calming tools into the hands of teens and young adults, I developed IDENTIFY and Map It! It’s a visual and verbal map to help you understand any life experience big or small. To further my goal to offer effective tools for Grief Recovery to your community, I certified in the well known Grief Recovery Method: The Action Program for Moving Beyond Death, Divorce, and Other Losses.

I teach emotional wellness, self-awareness and healthy relationship tools to teens and university students, in weekend workshops and to individuals. I work in Canada, the USA and internationally. I recently trained disaster relief psychologists and social workers for HOPEworldwide Philippines. I also offer online counselling.

My passion is putting effective tools into everyday peoples’ hands, who are looking for a way to build emotional strength and move forward into the life they choose. My husband, Brian, and I enjoy the outdoors and traveling to visit our 2 children and 6 grandchildren, as well as contributing to the growth and sustainable livelihood of disadvantaged children and adults.
